Dawn Higgins is our newest addition to the Servant Ministries family.  Dawn just arrived in the beginning of August although she had been down for a visit earlier this year and had stayed with us for over a month.  Dawn has served in the mission field before, in a Spanish speaking country, so this makes her “very ready” to jump in and get involved.  Dawn is beginning with a commitment of one year and will be working in the area primarily of overseeing the ministry’s finances and accounting records plus helping with a number of different areas for the ministry.  Below is a brief bio that Dawn wrote to help you get to know her.

“I grew up in a Christian family, but did not really understand what it meant to have a personal relationship with the Lord until my mid 20's.  After graduating from High School I attended Muskegon Business College for 2 years, and received an Associate Degree in Computer Science.  I then joined the Marine Corps for 5 years, during which time I accepted Christ as my personal Savior.  After leaving the military I pursued various jobs until being offered one in the Grand Rapids MI area.  I worked in a clerical position for several years and attended Grand Valley State University, pursuing a degree in Accounting.  After receiving my degree I was able to transfer to the accounting department within the same company.  In the late 1990's I took the opportunity to take a 3 year course with Grand Valley Bible Institute in MI.  In 2003 I accepted that God was calling me into missionary service.  I joined Latin American Missions in Jan 2005, beginning in Costa Rica for Language school.  I then worked about 4 years in Morelia Mexico, in a home for at risk girls, and doing community outreach projects.  In Dec 2009 due to various issues it was decided I should change ministries.  I looked into various ministries, but felt God calling me to Servant Ministries.  I arrived in Camotan on Aug 2, 2010.”
