TOGETHER...SHOWING THE FATHERS LOVE IN GUATEMALA...

Hudson, Michigan & Monroe, Georgia Team

February 14-24, 2008

A combined team came from Michigan and Georgia. Their main outreach was to provide labor for the construction of a church building in the village of Ocumbla.  Lighthouse World Outreach Center from Georgia paid for the construction of the project plus sent 7 people to assist with the labor.  New Jerusalem church from Michigan had 15 members come to assist with the construction project plus a number of other outreaches.  The team had participation in 3 different church services and also assisted with some of our school sponsorship outreaches in distributing school packs.  It was a good balance of “first timers” and “experienced mission trip people” and they worked well together.

NOTE:  I’d like to plant the seed for future teams.  We need specific teams for:

1.  In late November – to help with our annual VBS activity with the children.

2.  In later October or early November – we would like to have a team.  This could be a medical team or a team that takes advantage of having that be for outreaches with children or youth since this is their “summer vacation” or for other forms of outreach.

We need to get any potential teams for the fall of 2008 confirmed and in the planning process.  We would like to see a couple of teams fill this timeframe and not lose the opportunity to have some teams come down.  If you are considering a team for either the fall of 2008 or going into 2009, please communicate with me as soon as possible at nsheldon1@gmail.com.
